Registration Terms & Conditions

Registration Fees:

  • All confirmed registrations must be paid in advance. Special arrangements can be made for select government agencies. Please contact us for these special arrangements.
  • Course registration fees vary from city to city

Payments:

  • We accept all major credit cards.
  • We accept Purchase Orders, Vouchers and Government form SF-182.
  • Need to split up your payment for fiscal year considerations? No problem! Just contact us to make arrangements.

We can also work out special arrangements with your organization.


Registration Policies:

  • All confirmed registrations must be paid in advance.
    • Special arrangements can be made for select government agencies. Please contact us for these special arrangements.
  • All early bird registrations must be paid by the cut off date, or else invoice will be adjusted to regular price.
  • Registrations are transferable within your organization (to a colleague) on request until 2 days before the event date.
  • Confirmation of registrations will be subject to availability and timely receipt of payment.
  • Prices stated here include tax. Import duties and/or local taxes/GST/VAT, if applicable, are NOT INCLUDED in prices and must be borne by the registrant.
  • Registrations may also be transferred to a future course date if student are unable to attend.
  • Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • For cancellation, please refer to the "Cancellation Policy" section below.
  • Registration allows us to use the name of your organization in our future marketing activities as our customer and also gives release to publish any images taken of the particiapant for marketing purposes.

Cancellation Policy:

  • The following cancellation fees apply for cancellation of registrations received in writing via fax, email or phone:
    • 25 days prior to the scheduled date: 10% of total the registration fee will be levied to cover administration costs. In addition, a refund charge of $25 USD is also applicable.
    • 15 days prior to the scheduled date: 20% of total the registration fee will be levied to cover administration costs. In addition, a refund charge of $25 USD is also applicable.
    • 5 days prior to the scheduled date: no refund of monies paid.
  • Registrations are transferrable within your organization (to a colleague) on request until 2 days before the event date.
  • Registrations may also be transferred to a future course date if student are unable to attend.

Note: the above cancellation policy is applicable for confirmed but unpaid registrations as well. There will be NO exceptions to this policy for any reason.

Zachman International and the FEAC Institute reserves the right to postpone or cancel an event or to change the location of an event. In the event that we postpone a conference or course date, participant payments at the postponement date will be credited towards the rescheduled date. If the participant is unable to attend the rescheduled event, the participant will receive 100% credit representing payments made towards a future Zachman International or FEAC Institute events or you may send a replacement. No refunds will be available for cancellations or postponements.

Zachman International and The FEAC Institute is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of substitution, alteration, postponement, or cancellation of an event due to causes beyond its control including without limitation, acts of God, natural disasters, sabotage, accident, trade or industrial disputes, terrorism or hostilities.

Privacy Policy

Information we collect and how we use it

We may collect the following types of information:

• Information you provide – When you sign up for a Zachman International® Account, we ask you for personal information. We may combine the information you submit under your account with information from other Zachman International services or third parties in order to provide you with a better experience and to improve the quality of our services. For certain services, we may give you the opportunity to opt out of combining such information. You can use the Zachman International “My Account” pages to learn more about the information associated with your Account. If you are using Zachman International services in conjunction with your Zachman International Account, Zachman International administrators will have access to your account information including your email. 

• Cookies – When you visit Zachman International, we send one or more cookies to your computer or other device. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service, including for storing user preferences, improving search results, to customize ad selection to your interests, and tracking user trends, such as how people search. Zachman International also uses cookies in its advertising services to help advertisers and publishers serve and manage ads across the web and on Zachman International services. 

• Log information – When you access Zachman International services, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, your interaction with a service, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser or your account. 

• User communications – When you send email or other communications to Zachman International, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services. When you send and receive SMS messages to or from one of our services that provides SMS functionality, we may collect and maintain information associated with those messages, such as the phone number, the wireless carrier associated with the phone number, the content of the message, and the date and time of the transaction. We may use your email address to communicate with you about our services. 

• Affiliated Zachman International Services on other sites – We offer some of our services on or through other web sites. Personal information that you provide to those sites may be sent to Zachman International in order to deliver the service. We process such information under this Privacy Policy. 

• Third Party Applications – Zachman International may make available third party applications, such as gadgets or extensions, through its services. The information collected by Zachman International when you enable a third party application is processed under this Privacy Policy. Information collected by the third party application provider is governed by their privacy policies. 

• Location data – Zachman International offers location-enabled services (i.e.: Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, etc). If you use those services, Zachman International may receive information about your actual location (such as GPS signals sent by a mobile device) or information that can be used to approximate a location (such as a cell ID).

• Other sites – This Privacy Policy applies to Zachman International services only. We do not exercise control over the sites displayed as search results, sites that include Zachman International applications, products or services, or links from within our various services. These other sites may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data or solicit personal information from you. 

In addition to the above, we may use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, protect, and improve our services (including advertising services) and develop new services; and 

• Protect the rights or property of Zachman International or our users. 

If we use this information in a manner different than the purpose for which it was collected, then we will ask for your consent prior to such use.

Zachman International processes personal information on our servers in the United States of America and in other countries. In some cases, we process personal information outside your own country.

Choices

You can use the Zachman International “My Account” to review and control the information stored in your Zachman International Account.

Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some Zachman International features and services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.

Information sharing

Zachman International only shares personal information with other companies or individuals outside of Zachman International in the following limited circumstances:

• We have your consent. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any sensitive personal information. 

• We provide such information to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies or other trusted businesses or persons for the purpose of processing personal information on our behalf. We require that these parties agree to process such information based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures. 

• We have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or (d) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Zachman International, its users or the public as required or permitted by law. 

If Zachman International becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we will ensure the confidentiality of any personal information involved in such transactions and provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Information security

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, including appropriate encryption and physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.

We restrict access to personal information to Zachman International employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Accessing and updating personal information

When you use Zachman International services, we make good faith efforts to provide you with access to your personal information and either to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. We ask individual users to identify themselves and the information requested to be accessed, corrected or removed before processing such requests, and we may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardize the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup tapes), or for which access is not otherwise required. In any case where we provide information access and correction, we perform this service free of charge, except if doing so would require a disproportionate effort. Because of the way we maintain certain services, after you delete your information, residual copies may take a period of time before they are deleted from our active servers and may remain in our backup systems. 

Enforcement

Zachman International regularly reviews its compliance with this Privacy Policy. When we receive formal written complaints, it is Zachman International policy to contact the complaining user regarding his or her concerns. We will cooperate with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personal data that cannot be resolved between Zachman International and an individual.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Please note that this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent. We will post any Privacy Policy changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (including, for certain services, email notification of Privacy Policy changes).

After 26 years at IBM, John founded Zachman International as a company dedicated to the research and advancement of the state of the art in Enterprise Architecture principally based on the Framework for Enterprise Architecture- The Zachman® Framework. John A. Zachman is the originator of the “Framework for Enterprise Architecture” (The Zachman Framework™) which has received broad acceptance around the world as an integrative framework, an ontology for descriptive representations for Enterprises. Mr. Zachman is not only known for this work on Enterprise Architecture, but is also known for his early contributions to IBM’s Information Strategy methodology (Business Systems Planning) as well as to their Executive team planning techniques (Intensive Planning).

Mr. Zachman retired from IBM in 1990, having served them for 26 years. He is Founder and Chairman of his own education and consulting business, Zachman International®. He is also the Executive Director of the Federated Enterprise Architecture Certification Institute (The FEAC® Institute) in Washington, D.C., as well as the Chairman of the Zachman Institute™, a non-profit organization devoted to leveraging Zachman International's vast network of professionals and resources to offer services to small businesses and non-profit organizations as they prepare for and experience growth.

Mr. Zachman serves on the Executive Council for Information Management and Technology (ECIMT) of the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) and on the Advisory Board of the Data Administration Management Association International (DAMA-I) from whom he was awarded the 2002 Lifetime Achievement Award. In August 2015, Mr. Zachman was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for “recognition of his long term impact and contribution to how people think and practice Enterprise Architecture today, leaving his mark on generations to come” by the Global University Alliance and LEADing Practice. He was awarded the 2009 Enterprise Architecture Professional Lifetime Achievement Award from the Center for Advancement of the Enterprise Architecture Profession as well as the 2004 Oakland University, Applied Technology in Business (ATIB), Award for IS Excellence and Innovation. In August 2011, he was awarded the Gen. Colin Powell Public Sector Image Award by the Armed Services Alliance Program. In November 2013 he was acknowledged for Achievement and Excellence for Distinguished Innovative Academic Contribution by the IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society Technical Committees on Enterprise Information Systems and on Enterprise Architecture and Engineering.

Mr. Zachman has been focusing on Enterprise Architecture since 1970 and has written extensively on the subject. He has facilitated innumerable executive team planning sessions. He travels nationally and internationally, teaching and consulting, and is a popular conference speaker, known for his motivating messages on Enterprise Architecture issues. He has spoken to many thousands of enterprise managers and information professionals on every continent.

In addition to his professional activities, Mr. Zachman serves on the Elder Council of the Church on the Way (First Foursquare Church of Van Nuys, California), the Board of Directors of Living Way Ministries, a radio and television ministry of the Church on the Way, the President’s Cabinet of the King’s University, the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Citywide Children’s Christian Choir, the Board of Directors of Heavenworks, an international ministry to the French-speaking world and on the Board of Directors of Native Hope International, a Los Angeles-based ministry to the Native American people.

Prior to joining IBM, Mr. Zachman served as a line officer in the United States Navy and is a retired Commander in the U. S. Naval Reserve. He chaired a panel on "Planning, Development and Maintenance Tools and Methods Integration" for the U. S. National Institute of Standards and Technology. He holds a degree in Chemistry from Northwestern University, has taught at Tufts University, has served on the Board of Councilors for the School of Library and Information Management at the University of Southern California, as a Special Advisor to the School of Library and Information Management at Emporia State University, on the Advisory Council to the School of Library and Information Management at Dominican University and on the Advisory Board for the Data Resource Management Program at the University of Washington. He has been a Fellow for the College of Business Administration of the University of North Texas and currently is listed in Cambridge Who’s Who.

John P. Zachman is the Chief Executive Officer of Zachman International®, Inc, an organization dedicated to the research and advancement of the state of the art in Enterprise Architecture principally based on the Framework for Enterprise Architecture- The Zachman Framework™. The Zachman® Framework has received broad acceptance around the world as an integrative framework, or “periodic table” of descriptive representations for Enterprises.

John is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Federated Enterprise Architecture Certification Institute (The FEAC® Institute), the premier training and certification Institution for Enterprise Architects in Washington DC, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of Zachman Consulting™, a consortium of consulting partners committed to implementation of the Zachman Framework concepts as the base ontology for consulting practice.

As son of Zachman Framework originator, John A. Zachman, John has worked closely with his father in the management of Zachman International for over a decade. In addition to the operation of Zachman International and FEAC, John is the Founder and President of the Zachman Institute, a non-profit organization devoted to leveraging Zachman International's vast network of professionals and resources to offer services to small businesses and non-profit organizations as they prepare for and experience growth.

Prior to managing Zachman International, John has over 18 years of diverse experience in high-level management in the automotive industry and in the music industry as the Vice President of Marketing for Big Fish Audio, a sound manufacturer in the Los Angeles area. In these roles his focus was on entire organizational management with emphasis on analysis and implementation of enterprise systems. John is also currently an adjunct professor of ancient Greek at The King’s University as well as an adjunct professor in the Business School at Colorado Christian University.

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Management and a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management, both from Azusa Pacific University. He is near completion of a second Bachelor’s degree from L.I.F.E. Pacific College. He currently serves as a jury member for the Enterprise & IT Architecture Excellence Awards at iCMG in Bangalore, India. He currently serves, and has served since 2013, as the Advisory Council Chair for the Government EA East and West Conferences and the Excellence in EA Awards at Government EA in Washington, DC - two premier industry conferences for enterprise architecture in government. He is on the Enterprise Architecture Education Forum out of the Executive Office of the President - Office of Management & Budget in the United States.

John is an accomplished musician, has coached varsity football at Rampart High School, and has served on the Board of Directors for Arcadia Christian School.
