Format:

Our Challenge Path to CEA Certification is for those experienced individuals who desire the Certified Enterprise Architect designation and who believe they already possess the necessary skills to pass the examination and practicum project without instruction.

Upon registration, candidates must pay the non-refundable $299US Application Fee (to be applied to overall cost of course) in order to initiate our professional reference check for acceptance into the Challenge Path to Certification.

Upon acceptance, candidates must pay the non-refundable $299US Examination Fee (to be applied to overall cost of course) and pass the comprehensive examination. Candidates are allowed one make-up examination for technical difficulties and must wait 6 weeks to re-take the exam if passing grade is not achieved.

Upon passing the examination, candidates will enter the final phase of the Challenge Path and must pay the balance of fees due (less the Application and Examination Fees). Candidates will be given 6 weeks to complete their Practicum Project: and integrated architecture description and analysis based on a directed problem set.

Spring Schedule at-a-glance:

 

Foundations in Enterprise Architecture Bootcamp: Weeks 1-3

ACEA Green Belt: Weeks 1-6 (including first day of Week 7)

CEA Black Belt: Weeks 1-12

 

Self-Study opens March 28; however course registration is available up to one week prior to the 1st Instructor-Lead session. Registration cut-off for FEAF Spring is April 13, 2016.

Session 1

  • Student Self-Study, Weeks 1-3, March 28-April 18, 2016: Course materials and assignments are reviewed and performed by the student on-line in the FEAC Virtual University in preparation for Instructor-lead session.
  • Instructor-Lead Session, Week 4, April 19-21, 2016: Three days (24 contact hours) of instructor-lead, hand's-on, facilitated sessions with exercises and demonstration, building skills and competency in the building of Enterprise Architecture artifacts, models and analysis. Students may attend either the physical, classroom environment or via tele-presence (online).
  • Cohort Engagement Weeks 5-7, April 22-May 16, 2016: CEA (Black Belt) and ACEA (Green Belt) Team-based completion of assignments and practicum, accessing material and assignments online in the FEAC Virtual University. Students should plan to allocate 40-60 hours for assignments and practicum.

Session 2

  • Instructor-Lead Session, Week 8, May 17-20, 2016: Four days (32 contact hours) Student cohorts will present their practicum results and participate with industry speakers. ACEA (Green Belt) present their practicum on Tuesday only of this week and will test online for completion of the certification. 
  • Cohort Engagement, Weeks 9-11, May 21-June 12, 2016: CEA Black Belt candidates will  continue team-based completion of assignments and practicum, completion of additional assignments and refinement practicum efforts in the FEAC Virtual University. Students should plan to allocate 40-60 hours for assignments and practicum.

Session 3

  • CEA Black Belt Practicum Defense and Certification, Week 12, June 13-14, 2016: Over 2 days; cohorts will defend their practicums and take their final examination for CEA Certifications. Students may attend either the physical, classroom environment or via tele-presence (online)

Note: the actual duration of session 1 and session 2 Cohort Engagements may vary depending on U.S. Federal Holiday and Faculty Availability. They may be longer or shorter by one week.

ACEA Green Belt: Weeks 1-6 (including first day of Week 7)

CEA Black Belt: Weeks 1-12

 

Self-Study opens September 19; however course registration is available up to one week prior to the 1st Instructor-Lead session. Registration cut-off for FEAF Fall is September 26, 2016.

Session 1

  • Student Self-Study, Weeks 1-2, September 19-October 3, 2016: Course materials and assignments are reviewed and performed by the student on-line in the FEAC Virtual University in preparation for Instructor-lead session.
  • Instructor-Lead Session, Week 3, October 4-6, 2016: Three days (24 contact hours) of instructor-lead, hand's-on, facilitated sessions with exercises and demonstration, building skills and competency in the building of Enterprise Architecture artifacts, models and analysis. Students may attend either the physical, classroom environment or via tele-presence (online).
  • Cohort Engagement Weeks 4-6, October 7-31, 2016: CEA (Black Belt) and ACEA (Green Belt) Team-based completion of assignments and practicum, accessing material and assignments online in the FEAC Virtual University. Students should plan to allocate 40-60 hours for assignments and practicum.

Session 2

  • Instructor-Lead Session, Week 7, November 1-4, 2016: Four days (32 contact hours) Student cohorts will present their practicum results and participate with industry speakers. ACEA (Green Belt) present their practicum on Tuesday only of this week and will test online for completion of the certification. 
  • Cohort Engagement, Weeks 8-11, November 5-December 4, 2016: CEA Black Belt candidates will  continue team-based completion of assignments and practicum, completion of additional assignments and refinement practicum efforts in the FEAC Virtual University. Students should plan to allocate 40-60 hours for assignments and practicum.

Session 3

  • CEA Black Belt Practicum Defense and Certification, Week 12, December 5-6, 2016: Over 2 days; cohorts will defend their practicums and take their final examination for CEA Certifications. Students may attend either the physical, classroom environment or via tele-presence (online)

Note: the actual duration of session 1 and session 2 Cohort Engagements may vary depending on U.S. Federal Holiday and Faculty Availability. They may be longer or shorter by one week.

The FEAC Institute reserves the right to postpone or cancel an event, to change the location of an event. In the event that the FEAC Institute postpones a conference, delegate payments at the postponement date will be credited towards the rescheduled date. If the delegate is unable to attend the rescheduled event, the delegate will receive 100% credit representing payments made towards a future FEAC Institute events or you may send a replacement.
